A reflection on the two-day Avni Launchpad workshop with the Vibha NGO team — a journey of collaborative problem-solving, hands-on learning, and building the foundations for meaningful digital transformation.
The moment I stepped into the workshop, there was a quiet energy in the room — people settling in, exchanging glances, curious yet hopeful about what the next two days would bring. For me, it was also the first time meeting the Vibha NGO team in person after multiple virtual conversations. That shift — from screens to real interaction — instantly made everything feel more real and meaningful.
At the beginning, there was a sense of exploration. I understood their work, their challenges, and how their processes directly impact communities. At the same time, I found myself wondering — would the system truly fit into their day-to-day realities?
As we moved into the sessions, those questions slowly started finding answers.
What stood out most was how quickly the workshop turned into a collaborative space. Instead of simply walking them through Avni, we started building solutions together. During one of the hands-on exercises, a gap in the workflow surfaced — something small, but significant enough to disrupt their process. For a moment, it felt like a setback.
But that moment turned into an opportunity.
We paused, discussed, and reworked the approach together. Suggestions came in, ideas evolved, and soon we had a solution that fit much better than the original design. One of the participants mentioned, "This is exactly how we wanted it to work." That single line made the entire effort worthwhile.
From there, the energy shifted. The team became more engaged, more confident. We explored how Avni could be adapted further to suit their future needs, making changes on the go. It no longer felt like a training session — it felt like shared problem-solving.
Later, conversations moved towards how they would use the platform in the long run, including discussions around pricing and sustainability. It was interesting to see the transition — from understanding a tool to thinking about its long-term value.
Outside the sessions, the connections deepened even more. Over dinner, conversations flowed freely — ranging from everyday life to unexpected topics like geology. Those moments added a human layer to the experience, reminding me that strong working relationships are built beyond structured discussions.
The next phase of the journey introduced us to reporting through Metabase. For me, it was a new learning curve, and I found it incredibly valuable. Creating reports and seeing data take shape gave a new perspective on how insights can empower teams on the ground. Watching the Vibha team experiment with it hands-on and discover its possibilities was equally rewarding.
By the end, there was a clear transformation. What began with curiosity had turned into clarity and confidence. The team was no longer just exploring Avni — they were ready to use it meaningfully.
We wrapped up with an internal reflection, discussing what worked well and what could be improved. That conversation felt like a natural closing — grounded, honest, and forward-looking.
The Avni Launchpad was more than just a workshop — it was a journey of understanding, adapting, and growing together.
Moments like these reinforce why collaboration matters — not just to build better systems, but to create impact where it truly counts.
Looking forward to many more such impactful sessions!
